Just for Fun

1. Trampoline (Forest Sun)

It’s impossible not to smile

When you’re bouncing on a trampoline

It’s impossible not to smile

When you’re bouncing on a trampoline

Have you ever seen the stars at night?

Bouncing on a trampoline.

Have you ever felt two souls collide?

Bouncing on a trampoline?

Have you ever heard your heart beat wild?

Bouncing on a trampoline?

Have you ever left your worries behind?

Bouncing on a trampoline?

I’m so grateful for this night

I’m so grateful for this life

I’m so grateful for this time

I’m so grateful for this love

I’m so grateful for this breath

That little star and all the rest

I’m so grateful for these dreams

Thank god for trampolines.

2. You are my Sunshine (Charles Mitchell & Jimmie Davis)

You Are My Sunshine

My only sunshine.

You make me happy

When skies are grey.

You'll never know, dear,

How much I love you.

Please don't take my sunshine away.

The other night, dear

As I lay sleeping I dreamed I held you in my arms.

When I awoke, dear I was mistaken

And I hung my head and cried. Y

ou are my sunshine,

My only sunshine.

You make me happy

When skies are grey.

You'll never know, dear,

How much I love you.

Please don't take my sunshine away.

I'll always love you

And make you happy

If you will only say the same

But if you leave me to love another

You'll regret it all some day.

You are my sunshine,

My only sunshine.

You make me happy

When skies are grey.

You'll never know, dear

How much I love you.

Please don't take my sunshine away.

3. Polly Wolly Doodle (Dan Emmett)

I went down  town for to see my gal

Singing Polly Wolly Doodle All the day

My gal Sal she’s a spunky gal

Singing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day

My gal Sal is a maiden fair

Singing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day

With curly eyes and laughing hair

Polly Wolly Doodle all the day.

Fair thee well, fair thee well my fairy faye,

For I’m goin’ to Lousisiana for to see my Suzeeana

Singing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day.

Grasshopper sitting on a railroad track

Singing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day

Picking his teeth with a carpet tack

Singing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day

I went to bed but it ain’t no use

Singing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day

My feet stuck out like a chicken roost

Singing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day

Behind the bar down on my knees

Singing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day

I thought I heard a chicken sneeze

Singing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day

He sneezed so hard with the whooping cough

Singing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day

He nearly sneezed his own head and tail right off

Singing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day.

4. Hush Little Baby (traditional)

Hush, little baby, don't say a word,

Papa's going to buy you a mockingbird.

If that mockingbird won't sing,

Papa's going to buy you a diamond ring.

If that diamond ring turns brass,

Papa's going to buy you a looking glass.

If that looking glass gets broke,

Papa's going to buy you a billy goat.

If that billy goat won't pull,

Papa’s going to buy you a cart and bull.

If that cart and bull turn over,

Papa’s going to buy you a dog named Rover.

If that dog named Rover won’t bark,

Papa’s going to buy you a horse and cart.

If that horse and cart fall down,

You’ll still be the sweetest little boy in town.

5. Winter Squash Soup (Elam Blackman)

Winter squash soup

I love the fall and my winter squash soup

Call a friend out of the blue

Invite them over for some winter squash soup

Talk about your dreams, oh how you flew

Now your belly’s full of winter squash soup

Winter squash soup

Pumpkin patch by the side of the road

Wagon wheel all covered in weeds

Strange people what do I care

My belly’s full, they ain’t bothering me

Winter squash soup.

6. Blue Jay (David Schumacher)

Blue Jay sittin’ on an apple tree

Singing a song for you and me

He don’t scream, he don’t shout

He’s just singing what it’s all about

Blue Jay,

Blue Jay Blue Jay sitting on a hollow log

He looked down a saw a frog

He said hey froggie, what do you know

The frog said depends on which way you go

Blue Jay, Blue Jay.

7. Polly Wolly Doodle (All the Day) - same as above

8. Froggie Went A Courtin’ (traditional)

Froggie went a courtin’ and he did ride

Sword and pistol by his side

He rode up to miss Mousey’s door

Where he’d often been before

He said “Miss Mouse are you with-in”

“Just lift the latch and please come in.”

He took miss mousey on his knee Said,

Miss mouse, will you marry me.

Without my uncle rat’s consent

I would not marry the president

Now, uncle rat when he came home

Said, who’s been here since I’d been gone?

A very fine gentleman’s been here

Who wishes me to be his dear.

And uncle rat laughed and shook his side

To think his niece would be a bride

So uncle Rat he went to town

To buy his niece a wedding gown

Where shall the wedding breakfast be?

Way down yonder in the hollow tree

And what will the wedding breakfast be

Two green beans and a black-eye pea

The first to come was a bumblebee

He danced a jig with mill Mousey

The next to come was mister Drake

He ate up all the wedding cake

They all went sailing on the lake

And they all got swallowed by a big black snake

That’s the end of one, two, three

The rat, the frog and miss mousey

There’s bread and cheese upon the shelf

If you want any more just sing it yourself
